Structure

Structure grew from earthworks that I did. I am obsessively compulsive and ritualistic. These tendencies compel me to organized objects that surround me.

I never considered these arrangements anything until a friend ask me to take a picture one day. I tacked on the wall of my studio. People began to ask me about it. It was my hands doing what my mind was thinking.

The designs, the layout are readily apparent in my paintings also, but others tend to overlook it.

Even in cafes, restaurants, I compulsively arrange my territory. If the shakers are not aligned with the lights, or someone's head, I fail to relax. Like a splinter driven into the foot, the ache slowly grows until I fail to concentrate on anything else but correcting the failed composition.

Unfortunately, these arrangements are time relevant. They need to be moved around, In the woods, I tend to return to them, to observe the decomposition. To see what has occurred.
